TIANJIN INTERNATIONAL DESIGN WEEK 2017
DESIGN COMPETITION
1.PURPOSE
Design contest as a standing item of Tianjin international design week, in order to search for new languages and innovative thinking of contemporary art, the cultural and creative industry development needs energetic young people to inject new blood, encourages young artists to create their own artistic language.
2.THEME
"THE FUTURE IS NOW"
The contest theme is "future is now", in the new era, we are looking forward to a group of open-mind young designers, with their magic hands, the Midas touch, was turned by those decadent urban fantasy, dazzling.
3.WORKS
Looking forward to participants of areas such as architectural, industrial, graphic, urban planning, photograph,etc., work with the theme "the future is now" in different perspectives.
4.REQUIREMENTS FOR ENROLLMENT
People who under 40 years old before February 15th 2017(include 40) could apply for it, 2017. Accept for any nationality, social class, and it’s also admitted to participate in individuals or teams. (All teammates should also under 40 years old)
5.OFFICIAL LANGUAGES
All participants should use ONLY English and Simplified Chinese.
6.ENTRY
Participants Please obey articles below,
1.Participants should log in the Tianjin international design week website(http://www.tianjindesignweek.com) and fill the application in the design week application column within the valid time. Please pay attention to the application filling requirement.
2.At the same time, you will receive a confirmation email within your registration number from TDW committee, the subject of the email is in the form of registration number + name of your work+author’s name. If you didn’t receive your confirmation, please contact the TDW committee.
Note: When submit works, participants required to provide their own ID card copies and college student’s identity card for applying intellectual property rights after the competition.
7.SCHEDULE
1.Promulgate and promote requirements for competition pieces./From February 15 to April 15.
Give out TDW design competition requirements through various media.
2.Time for application/before the deadline April 15,2017.
Please submitted the application within valid date.
3.Work submit/From February 15 to April 15.
Please submit your work to the Committee within the dates. Works will be selected by the Organizing Committee.
4.Period for selecting/The first selected April 17, 18th, final selecting April 20.Competition judges will estimate the works of design competition during this period and the finalists will be notified.
5.Period of preparations for selected works exhibition/From April 25 to May 7.
Winners during this period should prepare to attend the Tianjin design week 2017 opening ceremony and the design competition award ceremony and works exhibition. (During this period, all selectees should advance the design draft, 3D pictures etc., make models, think about the real works, etc.)

Selected works will be displayed during the Tianjin international design week, authors will invited to participate in the 2017 Tianjin International Design Week and Design Competition Award ceremony. The Gold Silver and Copper Award authors will reward round-trip tickets and free hotel for attending the TDW 2017. (the team selectees only reward to one representative)

10.CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
l Works designed in panels (panels is required in horizontal panel, including all contents), up to 2 boards, detail panel requirements: electronic work files in JPG format; Page contents include theme, renderings, the necessary structure drafts, basic appearance size and description (800-1000 characters)etc.; expression of effect picture is free, could be allowed in hand-painted, computer.., in any way can clearly show the designer's creativity and design concept; design works format is 1200x900mm, resolution ratio 150dpi. Selected work authors should submitted original picture in 300dpi, for exhibition and publishing in the future.
l Those contents mustn’t be included in the design drafts: company/school, names (including English name or pinyin, even in a short form) or any symbol pattern and other can show the candidate’s identity.
11.RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
1.Participate in this competition is ALL FREE.
2.The transmission, exhibition, publication and other copyright belong to the Tianjin International Design Week Committee. While the committee use those works, the author’s name will be given at the same time.
3.All participants information submitted CANNOT be returned back, and participants CANNOT ask for any kind of reimbursement from the TDW committee, organizer, sponsor.
4.Works for this competition should be creative works, shall not be similar or same to other works, shall not infringe copyright of the third party or any other intellectual property rights. If it happened, the committee has the right to cancel candidate’s qualification in any stage of the contest, and also has the right to withdraw the rewards prizes and certifications. Besides, participants should pay reimbursement if their behavior causes any lose.
5.If there is any disputes about the intellectual property right, the participants should deal with it by themselves, include all legal responsibility.
6.The organizer reserves the explanations of these rules.
